As you search for your first pilates experience, know that all Pilates instruction is not the same.  I trained with Romana Kryzanowska and I continue to work with her several times a year in the form of private lessons and Continuing Education Seminars.  Romana trained with Joseph Pilates for decades and fulfilled the mission of teaching the world Pilates.  Romana is Joseph Pilates' living protege.
